Attention all lovers of the LO-FI! Check out Fans of Jimmy Century’s DIY lo-fi pop-up video for “Lola Like This”. Us bohemian lazy beach dwellers like to call it LOLA-FI =)
Here’s how you too can LOLA-FI anything in 10 easy steps…
Step 1: pin extremely wrinkled green fabric up on the bamboo bathroom doors AFTER Vic’s out of the bathroom, not before (cuz then you have to start all over again)
Step 2: whip out the As Seen On TV $19.95 steamer to steam out said wrinkles.
Step 3: set up the Target Polaroid $149.99 HD camera on a tripod on the dining room table.
Step 4: Run back & forth hitting the record button on the camera and the play button on the CD player.
Step 5: Get back in place and in character before recording begins, remembering to smooth the green fabric out under your 2 left feet. Re-draw Allen’s little French moustache.
Step 6: Yell at Alicia and her damn script after reminding her that this was supposed to be the easy video.
Step 7: Watch hours of Adobe After Effects tutorials on YouTube.
Step 8: Find someone you can borrow Adobe After Effects from so you don’t have to pay for it yourself.
Step 9: I can’t remember Step 9.
Step 10: DO try this at home.
***”The Making of the LOLA-FI Video” will be released in a few weeks complete with narrative, arguments, and Victor’s public display of his middle finger.
